Josh Haywood, Principal

Josh Haywood

Josh Haywood is a Principal with AFK and leads the parametric and computational design of the London studio. He is also an architect and artist specialising in a new kind of digitally-led architecture, with a strong interest in the synthesis of emergent digital fabrication technologies, and parametric, algorithmic, data driven models to explore and resolve design challenges at all stages of construction.

Josh's experience focuses largely on complex masterplans, high rise architecture, and hospitality buildings and on projects at all stages of construction. He also has extensive experience of working digitally through common shared models with multidisciplinary teams to unlock novel solutions to traditional construction issues. He uses environmental analysis, and material and structural efficiency as drivers of parametric models from a project's outset, opening up possibilities for proposals that are more efficient, sustainable, and creatively innovative.

Josh is also an internationally established artist and has created 10 large scale installations in the Middle East, Europe, and North America. His client portfolio includes Versace, the Sharjah Department of Culture and the Burning Man Project, a Global Arts and Culture Nonprofit Organisation based in the US.
