Situated on London’s distinguished Hanover Square, this unique development combines a new 50-key luxury hotel with 80 prime residential apartments ranging from studios to 4-bedroom family homes on a tight Mayfair site.
Detail and craft
The building’s facade features distinctive, inlaid brick panels inspired by its location in one of London’s most beautiful and historic squares. This rigorous, contemporary design language extends through to the interiors, where rooms have been conceived with a strong framing element, with bespoke joinery and finely crafted spaces, to both define and choreograph the experiences that take place within them. A rich palette of materials using brick, smooth concrete, marble and bronze, combined with intricate detailing, are used throughout the apartments and hotel to create a modern sense of luxury and quiet sophistication.

A 'kit of parts' approach
Modular off-site construction methods were used to address the constraints of the tight urban site, and to achieve a fast-tracked construction programme. A 'kit of parts' approach was developed to speed construction, utilising innovative component-based flat-packing principles and extensive use of pre-fabrication, especially pods for bathrooms and kitchens that are capable of being quickly assembled on site.
The building envelope comprises a highly innovative component-based hybrid exoskeleton, which was designed for ease of assembly and is rarely seen in UK construction. The frame’s steel and concrete elements were fabricated off-site and bolted together on-site to ensuring accuracy and fit, while maximising sustainability and minimising transport costs and on-site waste.
