Karl Fender OAM, Co-founder

Karl Fender is Co-Founder of the London Studio alongside Earle Arney. He gained his Master of Architecture at Harvard University, and has spent many years living and practising in London, Rome, Paris, Boston, Hong Kong and Bangkok. As Design Director, he has led major award-winning urban and architectural projects worldwide.
Highly regarded among his peers, Fender has served as President of the Australian Institute of Architects, is often asked to chair juries of various design competitions, and sits on design review panels for state governments. Karl was the Australian Institute of Architects (AlA) Victorian Chapter President 2008-2010 and AlA National President 2010-2011.
Fender's significant work was recognised by him receiving the Order of Australia Medal in the Queen's 2017 Birthday Honours "for service to architecture, and to professional institutions."
