Can Build to Rent Solve the Housing Crisis? Vision 2018

By Arney Fender Katsalidis

James Cheung, Associate Director, was invited to speak at Vision 2018, a leading architecture and construction conference, joining a panel of experts to discuss whether Build-to-Rent has the capacity to solve the housing crisis.

In a session titled 'Purpose-built rental homes are becoming increasingly popular with government, developers and investors. Does the solution to the housing crisis lie with Build-to-Rent?' on Friday 22nd June 11:45am - 12:45pm, James explained that the housing crisis affects every generation - and that Build-to-Rent, if done well, has huge potential because it is the largest form of housing delivery and gereates places intended to have long-term value.

James was joined by speakers:

  • Jeannette Veldkamp, Associate Director, Chapman Taylor
  • Angus Dodd, Chief Executive, Quintain
  • Chris Foges, Editor, Architecture Today (Chair)
